Granola

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2  honey or ( 1 cup brown sugar)
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 2 sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbls pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 raisins
  • 1/2 flaked almonds
  • 1/2 desiccated coconut

Method

  1. Pour the honey, water, oil and vanilla in a large saucepan and boil just for 1 minute. Remove from the heat then tip oats and coconut mix well.  Heat the oven to 160C/fan 140C/Gas 3.
  2. Tip the granola onto two baking sheets and spread evenly. Bake for 20 min. Then mix in the raisins, almonds and the seeds bake for 5 mins more and remove from the oven.  Let it cool and  the granola can be stored in an airtight container for up to a 3 weeks.
